Hair Loss is different from shedding. When one suffers from hair loss that means that your hair has completely stopped growing or just in a specific area. I notice that many are frightened if they see the amount of hair that sheds particularly after a sew-in or maybe they haven’t combed their hair in days. You know the lazy hair girls or guys who put their hair in a ponytail and leave it like that for days. I think we are all guilty of that at some point in our life. If you haven’t combed your hair in days or weeks of course you are going to have shedding, so don’t worry. It is normal to shed between 50 and 100 hairs a day. Now if your hair sheds over excessively you could be lacking protein, stressed, suffer from side effects of medication, in need of a haircut/trim, or you may need to see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis. If you are constantly under stress you may suffer from long term shedding. Try doing something that makes you happy or exercise, which is a great stress reliever. Make sure you drink a lot of water and be mindful of the things you choose to eat. What we choose to put in our bodies plays a significant role with our hair growth.
