Natural Girl Problems

SO THERE HAS BEEN A FEW THINGS THAT I’VE WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU, AND THIS PAST WEEKEND MADE ME THINK OF THESE NATURAL GIRL PROBLEMS. So the first incident happened while we were at a Photo shoot.  I had forgotten something I needed for a shoot so my cousin who was helping me as assistant that day took over.  While I was gone my cousin took out one of the natural hair models twists out.  Once I got back I checked to make sure everything was ok and noticed my cousin’s hands were drenched with oil. So I am thinking to myself no way could there be this much oil in her hair.  So since we had to move fast I said you have sooo much oil in your hair we are going to have to shampoo.  I washed her hair about 4 times and the product still wasn’t out, so I told her its still oily but when she gets home to shampoo again and not to use so much oil next time (I was styling with gel anyway so it wasn’t too bad).  One of natural girls problem is that they MOISTURIZEEEEEE OVER EXCESSIVELY, and that only leads to product wasting.  Oh and guys and the product she used was Magic Grease 0____0 (I knew it too).  Moments like these you have to act professional at all times, but just make sure to inform them that they can get moisture through treatments, styling crèmes, and serums without clogging their pores.  She was a sweetheart so she was very understanding, so hairstylists don’t be afraid to educate your clients. J

THEN I CAME ACROSS ANOTHER NATURAL GIRL PROBLEM!

I noticed that a lot of natural girls will either cut their hair themselves or will not get haircuts at all.  I know that hairstylists have a reputation for getting scissor happy, but that’s why it is always important to go to a hairstylist that you trust to avoid any problems.  Most of the time when you wear your hair curly your ends aren’t as visible as they would be when straightened, but you will notice at times they won’t cooperate or they will look like a frizzy mess. THIS IS WHY I DISLIKE SPLIT ENDS ( I really can’t stand them hehe) .  This also makes the styling process much MORE DIFFICULT, which will be another reason why stylists can add on a additional charge (because it takes way longer than it should).  I think a lot of natural girls focus soo much on the shrinkage that ALL THEY SEEM TO CARE ABOUT IS LENGTH. BUT DO YOU REALLY WANT DEAD LONG HAIR?  We are only looking out for your best interest and you will feel the difference once those bad ends are off.  So keep up with those ends to prevent having to take a lot off in the future. J
